Momma abondoned her best after 2 days with her 3 new babies. I heard peeps from her best and saw a half zipped egg and 5 more eggs with no action.
I guess she couldn’t wait any longer. I grabbed the eggs and put them in my incubator , where I have a dizen eggs at 14 days.
The chick hatched out and dried and I gave her back to momma this evening. So far so good. I hope she takes it back. Only time will tell.

Does anyone have experience with this?

If this is a first time brooding hen, she may be confused and didn't know what to do or how to do it. She may accept the chick(s) back, or may not. Some times, an inexperienced mother hen will attack and kill the chicks as she doesn't know what they are or why they are pestering her. Others will simply ignore the chicks. You'll just have to follow your own closing statement and wait and see. Hope it turns out well!
