Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

At what cost?

The recent tornado in Kankakee IL also hit a solar farm in northern Indiana. Right now, they are discussing who is responsible for the cleanup. The cost is unknown as well at this time.

I can think of multiple industries that could move into the area that would produce hundreds of jobs instead of a handful.

There are better uses for farmland. Solar panels can cover parking lots and building roofs, for the pathetic amount of energy they produce in this part of the globe.

We all could. But where are they then? And jobs really wasn't the point of them putting this in, just a perk.

This explains how much they can power. With what's going on in the world today, it's probably a good idea to have a Plan B anyway.

I won't get into the solar discussion. I don't know too much about it.
DD sent be several packets of seeds. she sells plants in the spring/summer. never has much luck with the kale family. i will see what i can do for her
as a gift, she sent two pkts of onion seeds for me
i still have a large snow bank in front of the tractor garage, as soon as it is gone i am going to start moving my raised beds to their summer area.
i won't have any help doing that this year, but i have a plan. they each weigh about 15o pounds
there are 8 of them.
if i do 2 per day it won't be too bad.
i take out the top half of the dirt and run it in my cement mixer. then i sift out any roots i find and add nutrients as needed. so far this works well. i never have any/many weeds to pull.

I also have a couple snow banks to melt yet. I won't miss them when they are gone either.
Freezing rain here with the winds today broke Ice coated branches off trees everywhere here, as well as some downed trees. Power was off for a short time. I was happy when it came back on for sure.
Sounds like more possible freezing rain problems on the way .... dang
It will be quite the clean-up here. The saw will be getting a good work out along with me!

Stay Safe ... bigz
