Today i found a 3-4 inch skinny clear worm in my turkeys poop. There was another one i think about a 3/8 of an inch. What type of worm is this? What can i use to treat it and where can i get it? Also, i have medicated turkey starter would this help?

Most likely if they were round, they are roundworms...use wazine17 and follow directions on the label for turkey's. If the worm was flat, most likely tapeworms...use valbazen. I dont know the dosage for turkey's. For a standard size chicken it's one half cc (one half ml)...small chickens is one quarter cc (one quarter ml) for valbazen.

No, AVC is useless against worms. You're definitely dealing with roundworms and if you saw it in his poop, he has an infestation of roundworms and you must use wazine17. I recommend you read "threehorses' messages on worming. I follow her directions to the letter. Good luck.

People said to use wazine 17 first, them a broad spectrum wormer. What are some of the broad spectrum wormers you guys used in the past?

I use Valbazen, It gets every internal parasite known to fowl. and actually i'ts a safer first time wormer than Wazine..I've used them all from Red Devil Lye to the old Wormal Tablets that were made by Salsbury years ago..Valbazen is simply the best

You're right Pine Grove, valbazen is a great wormer. I just recently found out though that it doesnt kill roundworms and it doesnt say anywhere on the bottle that it does. Luckily it kills most everything else including tapeworms. Go with wazine for the roundworms (which your turkey has) then 2 weeks later go with safeguard or ivermectin pour on as stated by threehorses to kill roundworm larva and other worms, except tapeworms.
