The treatment for wry neck is vitamin E. Cut open a gel cap of E, and pry open the chick's beak and squeeze the oil into the mouth. After giving the chick the E oil, if the chick is eating, hard boil an egg and mince it finely. You can squeeze the oil of several capsules of E onto the egg and let all the chicks eat it. Do this each day until the chick is behaving normally.

Have u used that urself..

Usually with wry neck, the neck is twisted to one side, upward, or downward. If the chick was rolling it’s head around, it may have been adjusting it’s crop to help move food through. Is the crop large and firm or soft? Check for impacted crop. Is it eating and drinking? Is it alert and active, and have you seen the neck movements today?

If the symptoms are wry neck, B complex can be combined with the vitamin E, since some types are caused by a thiamine (B1) deficiency in chicks. Wry neck is a symptom, and can be seen in head injury, vitamin E or B1 deficiency, and is seen in older birds in some viruses.

He's eating and running around like he's a normal chick. We bought it from tractor supply he looks normal only he holds his head sideways when he's awake but when he sleeps or gets carried away with playing it will twist all the way around until it's lil head is completely upside down . I did get him the vitamin yesterday.. do u think he's in pain.. is having it like this ok.. I don't want it to b in pain.

Thank u.. I have him the vitamin E yesterday and yes he's eating like a normal chick I also bought some of that electrolytes save a chick.. because when I bought it I wasn't sure that he was going to eat but now he probably wants more than his buddy's.. other than his neck being twisted all the way around when he sleeps he does act like a normal chick

Keep up with the E. It's easy enough to open the capsules and squeeze it onto the chick food or minced boiled egg. It can't hurt the other chicks, so it's easy to just feed it to them all. In a few days, this chick should be normal unless this is a genetic issue.
