I needed to use up some ripe bananas and wanted to make a cake that my Aunt makes, but her recipe called for a box of yellow cake, which I didn't have.
So I found this recipe. I did not use the frosting I used a different one which I will post the recipe after the cake link.

I didn't put the cake in the freezer either as the recipe states to do, only because I have no room!

It came out yummy! Here is the link to the recipe!

Frosting That I used!

Flour frosting

4 Tbl flour
3/4c milk
4Tbl. crisco shorting
1 stick butter
1 cup sugar
1 1/2t. vanilla

Heat milk and flour till it becomes thick, and paste like. (I did it till it was thick as thin pancake batter
put in fridge to cool.
Cream butter and shorting till creamy.
Add sugar and vanilla till fluffy.
Add in flour mixture and beat till light and fluffy.
I topped the cake with a layer of sliced bananas before frosting the cake.
This would make a good layer cake, but I baked it in a 9x13 pan!

Brenda -- I tried your banana cake today and both my husband and I loved it! We loved the texture and really banana flavor.

With cream cheese frosting, it's a new favorite!! Thanks for posting the recipe.
