Its taken a year for my zebra finches to breed and both pairs have finally bred. I have 2 nests for them which they sleep in. One of my pairs are fine and eggs have hatched but my other pair has laid one egg so far, in the food dish. I took out thr food and allowed them to nest it but it will soon be winter but is already very cold and windy and the dish has no top which means the cold may kill the babies. I want to move the egg into their nest but im worried something will go wrong, any ideas?

I wonder in @JaeG can give you some advice.
I don't know a thing about finches, sorry.
