I encourage people to have both tufted and cf Araucana in the flock...are tufted difficult to get in your area? Where are you?

I had the same thing happen when I started raising Araucana... Because they don't have a tail bone, and lots of butt fluff, breeding is a challenge for these birds. It helps a whole lot of you trim the fluff immediately around the vent and any cushion/saddle feathers that may block the vent area.

It looks like your rooster has a partial tail, or a just a few feathers...that can affect your breeding program. My cockerel also has a few feathers, but he was nice and has lovely pinwheel tufts so I kept him as a short term breeder. I don't understand all the genetics involved with the...

Explain? If roosters have ZZ and hens have ZW, I guess I don't understand your objection. It's the same with humans, but the other way around, men having the xy and not being able to produce a son etc ....

Generally the hen determines the sex of the chicks, more so than the rooster. Did you also change your hens?

You say she had chipmunk stripes? Was her main body color a yellow or a brown?
