I think you're talking about trichinosis, and I've read that for the most part it's not a threat any more in commercial pork. I think it was more prevalent in the old days when most hogs were raised outdoors. So no, I wasn't really worried about giving them the raw pork bone to peck on.

I gave my hens the bone from a pork shoulder I boned out today. They really like the taste of raw pork!

I tossed a meaty ham bone into the chicken run. Since 4 or 5 hens tend to dominate over treats like that, I also tossed in some apples, tomatoes and broccoli for the subordinate hens, who will probably never get a taste of ham today.

I found that mine like it too. They pretty much demolished the cauliflower head. All that was left was the stump of the stalk and the leaf stubs.
