So this is my first time ever incubating eggs or even seeing fertile eggs. I have 9 Cayuga duck eggs and one of them looks different from the rest. None have any veins yet, that I could see when candling today, we’re on day 5 of incubation. Is this egg okay? I think there is a vague smell. No movement, no veins, but when I turn the egg the content inside sort of float around. I’ve also added pictures of 2 other eggs to show the difference. The first and last image are of the egg in question and the other images are 2 separate eggs. Thanks in advance

If manually incubating, what temperature is the incubator at?
I'm not sure about the egg in question, but the second egg looks fertilised to me, but in the very early stages.
Be very gentle when handling at this stage in development, turn and move the eggs slowly. It could take a little longer before seeing veining.
So keep the eggs in for now and wait and see, though if one is starting to smell, I would worry about leaving it in.
I have no experience with cayuga eggs, but hopefully someone else will be along shortly, this reply should give your thread a boost. 😊
Best of luck

The incubator is at 37.5 and 55% humidity. We ended up discarding of the egg this morning because the smell had gotten stronger and it looked a bit more like a blood ring was there. Thanks for the response! I’m really hoping we get some hatchlings in a few weeks
