Do you count eight legs? Mites have that number. Any less, it's not a mite.

Yeah, it has 8 legs! It is an annoying garden pest and harmless to chickens. It’s like a bright red color and super duper tiny. I’m pretty sure poultry mites are more black and deep blood red right? We get them every year around our pool and landscaping but now I’m paranoid

Oh so very true! I am one for my career! I love bugs, just not the ones on my chickens!
