Do you say soda pop, soda, or pop? I live on the west coast and we personally say "pop", but even that may be considered regional, my dad was from WI so I think he may have used soda, or also pop. West coast people may think of soda water when we hear soda.

If you could also state whether you are west or east coasty, or even midwest. Then we can see who says what, from what region.

Although it is a kind, that's what a lot of Texans call soda, soda pop, or pop. We just say Coke! doesn't matter what kind, it's just all lumped together.

I'm from southern California and we say the same! "Coke" is a general term for a soft drink, just like "kleenex" is a general term for facial tissue.
