It's been snowing since before dawn. Still, it's not terribly cold, so I bundled up and scooped all the nasty straw and poopy mess out of the runner ducks' shelter as soon as I let them out.
Snow is now coming down horizontally and piling up. I looked out, expecting to see the runners all happily settled inside their warmer, cleaner shelter.
No. All seven are curled up outside, heads tucked in, slowly being buried in snow. They must have learned from the geese. Gussie and Golly often abandon their shelter to lie in the snow as they peer into the basement windows.
Chickens are all cooped up. I am not giving them any opportunity to exasperate me!
