OK, so I'm thinking of getting a pair of geese.

I have opossums around here, and possibly the occasional coon, skunk, etc.

So, I'm trying to think of the best way to protect them.

I have this enclosed area that I think was intended as a dog run. I always intended to use it for chickens, so when I updated my fence, I kept that in mind. It is chain link fence, enclosed. Parts of it are 6 feet tall and other parts are 4 feet.

Eventually I may turn the shed next to it into a chicken coop, but not right now. I hear geese are pretty hardy, so I was planning on giving them a dog house or something with hay.

But what about predators? Any thoughts or suggestions? Do I need to enclose the whole thing in chicken wire or something? What about gaps? Nothing's wide enough to let my small dog through, and probably not wide enough for a chicken to get through, but possibly a possum could get in.

Thanks!

There are not a whole lot of predators taht will go after geese after they are full grown. Most common is a Coyote,or Dogs. I have mine in a horse pasture with horse fence that is 5 foot tall. The pen is about 2 arces.
