New chicken bullying old flock

As long as they have separate roosting areas you should be able to free range them together. I have a young hen half the size of my original hens but this doesn't top her bullying them .I've been moving her around so she won't rise in rank. She is a jerk thru and thru

Unfortunately the roosting area we have for them now is just temporary, so she’ll need to eventually be able to roost with them. It is so tough dealing with the rude gals, I’m sorry you’ve had to as well.

Keep her separate for a week and get her some pinless peepers before letting her join the flock again.
This way your hens will no longer be attacked by her, nor will you, and no heartbreak caused to the family member.

Ah, I was looking into the pinless peepers… I’ll have to order some. How long do they generally need to wear them?

We have her separated right now, so we’ll continue with that plan! Thank you!

It always depends on the individual, so maybe try for 3-4 weeks and see how she behaves after getting them removed.
