My white silkie bantam is bound and determined to sit! I have tried everything from fake eggs, to a broody buster, and most recently bought a black silkie bantam with 12 of her own 4-day olds and tried switching a few of them for the fake eggs which was a bust. She chased them out of her nest and they went back to Momma.

Is it too late in the year to just let her hatch a few and end her broodiness? I am in W Kentucky, so early Fall for us is usually around 80+ daytime, 40+ night time, but Im not sure what the weather will be like 21 days from now! Would she be capable of keeping them warm if it does start to get down into the low 40's/high 30's in 21 days or so??

I'm in W Ky too and i've got a banty hen on 4 eggs that should hatch any day and she does a very good job at keeping them all warm and my silkies are bigger than she is i would let her sit on one or two if it gets to cold before they hatch you can always put her somewhere out of the weather until they get feathered out
