Rural king. I have 2 hens that are same age and look exactly like leghorns but may blue eggs.Where'd you get her? She could be a blue laying, legbar hybrid that hatcheries come up with.
She's a leghorn/legbar/etc cross.Rural king. I have 2 hens that are same age and look exactly like leghorns but may blue eggs.
Looks like a Sapphire which is an F1 hybrid of Cream Legbar rooster and White Leghorn hen. They may or may not have a small crest depending on whether the rooster used has two crested genes or only one. McMurray's hatchery sells them as White Sapphires and advertises them as being crested.
Thanks for the info. First year with chickens and rural king has already given me a few surprises. These were on obviously labeled white legbars. I was thinking ameraucanas had darker legs.Looks like a Sapphire which is an F1 hybrid of Cream Legbar rooster and White Leghorn hen. If it was a White Legbar, the egg would be a darker blue and it would have a crest.
If it was an Ameraucana it would have a pea comb, not a single comb.
