I've also purchased it at home depot. Here they are JUST putting them out. And don't look for something HUGE, it's about the size of a brick brick, maybe a cobblestone brick. NOT HUGE.Thank you! I would never have looked in a pet store.
Any other locations to check for coir? And are there different kinds? I wouldn't want one that was treated/dyed, etc. as wood chip mulch is, for example.

Also, I find it absorbs water better if you break it up, grab a hammer. It takes forever and floats if you just toss it into a large container with water, Even if you just break it in half or thirds.
Toss it in and walk away. ALSO you can always add MORE water later if it's too dry, if you start with too much...UGH is all I'm saying!
I keep a couple of bricks on hand in case, otherwise I've switched to the giant pack of promix
