What does everyone think about feeding chickens boiled eggs from the flock?

my chickens love their own eggs, boiled and crumbled up. It's probably their favorite food besides blueberries ! What do you all think about feeding chickens their own eggs? occasionally obviously!

It's a great source of protein, but seems like a bit of a waste of eggs on a routine basis.

I feed mine scrambled eggs. They also get the eggshell back. It is probably their favorite food. The eggs are gobble up before I get out of there. I have more eggs than we can eat so they get the extras so I don't have a fridge full of eggs.

We don’t eat all of the yolks in scrambled eggs so we cook them separately and give them to the flock. They are the number one treat for them.

I take a boiled egg to lunch daily which means plenty of shells and the occasional egg that doesn’t peel right. The girls love both.

If I have a pile of dirty eggs, I'll boil them, chop them up shell and all to feed back to the chickens.

I usually give broken or really poopy eggs raw to the dogs, as I don't get too many of those. I feed back all my eggshells. The only time the chickens got eggs is when they were on a large dose of fenbendazole dewormer. I scrambled them up by the dozen and fed them back to the chickens for 4 weeks. They were quite spoiled. I have since started putting the dewormer in their feed in smaller doses for 6 days in a row, and there is no egg withdrawal.

you should try it occasionally - they will love it and also very nutritious
