New to BYC, and to raising chickens, got 8 chickens, 3 Wellsommers, 3 chanteclurs and 2 production reds, appreciate all the info here on BYC, thanks!

I'm about as far away from AK as you can just about get (and still be in the US) but when it comes to birds, we're all a bit poultry obsessed. If you have questions, feel free to ask. There is so much information available here and a lot of friendly, helpful members.

Welcome to BYC. I've heard Chanticleers were bred to withstand very, very cold weather. For one thing their combs don't get frostbitten, they lay so close to the skull.
