Rescue duckling ID

Got a knock on the door at 8pm asking if we’d take in this duckling who’s sibling got killed by a dog.

Of course we took em in! They had no info they could give me about it but I’m guessing it’s 3 weeks ish. But I am curious on the breed. I was thinking Anacona or magpie? But I haven’t had either of those so I’m not sure. I do know it did come from a feed store, they couldn’t tell me which so I can’t even look at a breed list. Any input is appreciated!

So sad!

But he’s doing great. First night he was distraught but yesterday and today he’s doing well. Happy chirping and cuddling his mirror

In some cases, They have black bills or dark brown bills But now That I've looked at some pictures, It looks like he's a magpie! Probably not an Appleyard.. Sad..

That’s ok, doesn’t really matter what he is. We’ll keep him. I just like to know what I’ve got!

your going to love it! magpies and ancona both are the sweetest ducks! my personal favorites. there quiet there not very timid. and nice on the eyes. and good egg layers.

That’s why I was thinking magpie or anacona. I’ve found pics of both that look like him. I just don’t know how to tell the difference between the two.

No, they do not. He looks like a Magpie or Ancona to me (I am bad at telling those two apart), or a mix.
