Naked Necks or Turkens are a chicken breed developed to have at least 1/3 less feathers. They are cold hardy and heat tolerant and a good dual purpose breed. Many of us like to cross them with other breeds to develop our own special brand of Nekkids. For example Showgirls are silkies mixed with NNs. Some of us like crest NNs and some of us like EE/nns. The NN is a dominate gene so almost 75% of cross will have some amount of feather loss on the neck.

I have a necked neck too. It looks just like the one on that first couple pictures.... Mine hatched April 14 just about the same as yours.. I got a dozen eggs from a guy and boy you could imagine my surprise when a necked neck popped out....he was one of the roosters I was going to try to save......you wouldn't need another one would ya? JK LOL (not really) want him?
LOL LOL I've got more boys then I can handle now. I doubt I keep any of my barred boys they are a little to aggressive for my taste, and I have some pure NN hatching out later this month I will choose a boy from those. My barred boys were big when I got them and I wasn't ready for the big "C" yet so they will go fully intact to freezer camp. Are you sending any of your boys to freezer camp? I know probably not the pet one you wanted to keep, but the others?
"Freezer camp" hehehe that is funny!! I was taking them ALL even Big Red to the guy I got the eggs from, he puts them on craigs list and sells them and some one else eats them... But as it turns out my neighbor who is avid hunter says he will take them to "Freezer Camp" and we will have a big BBQ. I just wont look at what I am eating .hehehe
