    It was definitely a shock. I wasn't home until after dark Monday so I didn't see him except for a few minutes in the morning and he was his normal self. Tuesday morning, he was limping and yesterday afternoon he just looked absolutely awful. I got him up and he drank for a while under the protection of the geese and put himself to bed by the feeder. When I checked on him this morning he was gone.

    No idea. I can't imagine how he hurt himself to begin with. And I can only think that he got so dehydrated yesterday that his body just gave out on him. Hollywood, the other rooster, isn't sure what to do now that he's the only breeding male. At least I have some sons of Sterling growing out.
