Hen has been sitting on eggs for like 3-4 days now? Has any mayor development happened to where it’s not recommended I eat? I’m not into eating embryos or anything that already started to develop
Is there a way to get them used to being around human without running away?
Hens comes to me when called, and the chicks follow, but aren’t too confortable around me yet
Not sure what happened, but this is the smallest chick and one of the two mommas seems to bully him/her.

I came home to this chick breathing through the hole. I will be gone for the evening and wondering if it will be okay to leave it like so. Another chick that was out under a hen the same day is already out.

1. After how long of hearing the chick, or any other suggested point, should I try to help it out? What are signs of a chick needing assistance?
2. Can a chick fully get out of the egg, with the hen sitting on top?

Had a broody, another hen decided to get broody also and both were laying in the same nest for a few days without any problems. I went out of town yesterday, came back today and the nest was a mess and some eggs where not in the
I went to go get non fertile eggs from under my broody hen. (I have, had a dozen fertile eggs underneath her)
But I noticed I was missing one, I can tell because i marked them.
I noticed the 3 eggs that I pulled out from underneath her, had yolk on them.
I’m thinking the missing one was...
I will relocate a broody hen to a dog crate so she’s not bothered. I don’t have anything to use for bedding other than fine pine shavings. Is this okay for her to hatch her eggs in?
With these temps, I was wondering if I should bring my hens in the garage with gets really cold or put some cardboard on the sides of the coop to block the cold air which is best?
