People get chickens around here all the time and then list them for free after they run afoul of the regional planning agency or get discouraged after uncontrolled predator losses. It has taken all of my will power to resist taking any.

Someone just contacted *me* through *my* ad for quail to ask me to take their two hens. Why?! Whyyyyyyy?! I want chickens so bad, this is torture.

Apparently vacation is the issue with the chickens, so I offered to either take care of them or "take care of them".

Chicken-sitting would be fun! I hope they let me after making it clear I also eat my birds

My 8th & 9th babies have hatched overnight

I can't quite believe it! 9 out of my 10 eggs hatched
(number 10 I dropped & killed, so we'll never know if it would have hatched)
