Thatās the one reason Iām having a hard time deciding what eggs to order the pretty colors will be harder to sex. I prolly will give it a go anyway.
Zero change from the other two eggs through the night.
I too have decided to stick with my own birds for now. If Iām going to have trouble sexing them, I donāt want to pay for them. Especially since Iām just starting, and have no clear goals yet.
2 more peeps hatched over night and one is zipping now. 27/31 so far, not bad. I set 45 eggs, tossed 14 clear/early quitters at day 10. I'm leaving the last 4 eggs until tomorrow unless I see pips. I need to clean the incubator for chicken eggs by end of month.
I set 48 eggs last night @Texas Kiki . Not hoping for fantastic fertility rates, it includes a couple of unproven pairs and I have been collecting eggs for about 9 days now, but I should have another small horde next month no matter what. I can fill some of my waitlist orders and the rest of them will go to the local swap when they're teenagers.
I hear you all on the sexing thing. I am trying to pick out fancy colored 4 week old pullets for someone. Let's just say they are getting extras just in case!
Still no progress from the two eggs. They wiggle a lot occasionally, but then they go back to sleep. The one has been pipped since Monday night and the other since at least yesterday afternoon.
