➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Usually from 1st pip till hatch is around 12 hours. Once they start zipping it's like an hour till their free of the shell.

In my experience with myshire eggs....most healthy hatches occur during the first 12-24 hours after I notice first pip! (And they seem to like hatching overnight when no one is watching!) :gig:pop:celebrate

Two more pips so far—nice to be reassured that there shouldn't be too much longer to wait! I'm having to stop myself from checking on them every 10 seconds. The temperature was right for the whole hatch this time (a first, lol) so hopefully there won't be as many day 19 hatchers as in the last two rounds.

I think my first hatch took 24 full hours from the first egg to hatch to the last.

Most of my hatches haven't taken that long though.

You must have been so stressed out :lau
It gets easier with ever hatch.
The balutties were the worst.
I didn't eat or sleep for days.

I remember laying on the floor hearing some kind of bug outside the window making noise.
I might have gone aittle crazy those few days. I remember feeling like a walking zombie for sure.

OMG Kiks!! Lol that’s a pretty serious addiction you had there :lau

As I was taking these pics, I had several wander out the gate for some “free ranging”. luckily hubby and I were able to wrangle them all back in without much issue! we’re starting to get good at “quail wrangling”:gig:lau

Honestly that was the best hatching time I had ever experienced. Staying up for days on end waiting on my abandoned broody eggs and your balutties to hatch. :highfive: I was still new around here then.
