Hey all! Who wants to guess genders on my 9/10 week old Silkies?!? 🤣 I know it might be too early sorry for some crappy photos. But they are still shy and my 10 year old was helping. They have been my problem babies if you have followed any of my other posts! I’m at a loss of gender. Brand new to chickens. I’m going to try and group the photos per chick
2 Buffs
2 Blacks

Silkies really are tough. Sometimes it takes a cockadoodledoo or an egg to be sure. With that said, my hunch is that the black ones are cockerels and the buff ones are pullets. That's my best guess right now.

If you're really wanting to know sooner rather than later you could send in samples to a lab for each of them. It's not too expensive and it can bring peace of mind.

I wanted to DNA test but my other half says we should wait and be surprised 🤣 but I’m a tad bit impatient. I can have a rooster, so it will just depend on if they get along and if they are polite Roos. Thanks for your guess!
