We have a duck that somehow escaped an animal attack. We are treating g her and she is doing ok. We have her separated from the flock while she heals. Is it ok to have her alone and how long can we keep her that way? We know they are social animals and want her to succeed in healing without causing more problems.

keep her alone until her wounds are completely or almost completely healed. you should have her in a cage next to her friends while she heals, so they remember her face and don't attack when she is reintroduced.

You think they would attack her? They’ve been raised together for years? We don’t have her outside since her wounds were infected when she came back. We were thinking of keeping her inside until fully closed due to not wanting maggots.

You could keep her inside and isolated, but you will have to reintroduce her properly. Being raised together won’t matter if she’s separated for a long period of time. She’ll have to go through the pecking order again and, yes, could be attacked.

You could also keep a friend inside with her (behind a fence) so reintroduction may be easier.
