Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I'd take dead horse over hospital visit...hope all is well.

Rainrainrainrain here...but warmer...has facilitated some tasks.
Got my new van...CarDealerDetox is well under way...relieved to have a reliable vehicle.
Old, half blind, half crippled dog has been a challenge, trying to figure out how to make it easier for him to go down deck steps to dog yard without us both 'breaking a hip'.

Oh no! Dead horses, infirm dogs, hawks and folks we care about spending time in hospital. No wonder this thread was slow over the weekend.

Real life hits us all and sometimes unexpectedly. Every one stay safe, warm, and dry. Know that this group is here for support and encouragement.

Hubby was nice and opened the coop to let the girls out Sunday when I was gone, but he didn't brace the run door open, so one of the hens didn't get back into the coop before the wind shut the run door. With the time change, it's dark I didn't know they all didn't make it back in. She made darn sure she cam running to the run door this morning when I went out to open the pop door.

Been there done that, so I put an eye on the coop and a chain with hook on the door and we hook the open door to the coop wall so it can't blow shut. This seems to work better than just blocking the door from the wind.

I have a bungee strap on it we can use to hold open or hold close, plus a chain and a carabiner. When I open the door I just hook the bungee on the fence. He just didn't think about it.

I captured my seahorses doing an egg transfer last night on my cell phone. Yep I made a seahorse porn! lol! I should be having littles swimming around in a couple weeks. Not sure they'd make it cause that takes a lot of work to keep them alive.

Well, deer season black power starts up this weekend for my area. Looking forward to get back out in the woods.

I got lucky today. I checked on the chicks, changed the water founts, and filled the feeders. Then I went to an appointment and worked for a few hours. Got home after dark and went to check on the birds...
I had forgotten to re-secure the wire-fence gate on the perimeter. The door was closed but not covered by the fencing. A clever raccoon might have been able to open the door and get in.
Gotta pay attention all of the time.
