Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

We had to make the hard decision to put one of our dogs down Saturday. He had a paralyzed Pharynx, and though we kept him in AC - when he wanted to go outside to go potty, it was just too much for him with the heat and he wasn't recovering from the pharynx closing. He was 13, which is pretty good for a mastiff.. but still never long enough.
Never an easy decision.
It's so hard to watch them struggle, my old dog is headed down that last hard road.

So Sorry:hugs
Condolences....
We know from the minute we let them into our hearts, that one day they will break them.
The joy we gain by loving them will, in time, once again outweigh the sadness they can bring to our lives.

It was nice that it was on the smaller side. We really do get to talk then.
Candy, can you check out the pavilion you mentioned? See if it can be reserved. Any one else in central Mi have ideas of another site, chime in.

Not sure what happened to my original answer, but it's not in the thread :( The pavilion is available and located a bit north of Williamston MI. That would put the up north drivers going east about 40 minutes via I 69.
I did send my condolences for the lost horse, chickens, and now dogs that have crossed the rainbow bridge. Sorry to hear :(

Here are some pictures that hopefully will make you smile! 65465566_10161823210245114_6467742473102819328_n.jpg 65551309_10161823210420114_17050856956362752_n.jpg 65908269_10161823210465114_5179828136337997824_n.jpg 66048579_10161823210510114_1094360566123724800_n.jpg

We had a dog with same thing. We were terrified she would suffocate to death so when she had a really bad choking event, we took her for her ‘last ride’. So sad but the vet gave her oxygen then a tranquilizer so she could leave comfortably. She was also 13.

RIP Domino.

Not sure just what happened, but heard an odd flapping and she was dead in the run with Willie and a hen pecking at her.
Might have been a skirmish and she bolted into fence and broke her neck or had a heart attack.
She was the sweetest and my favorite for her mellowness and beauty...and one of the few still laying. Damnit.. SMH
