My chickens are split on this. The younger ones don't mind snow or rain unless it's really pouring. My older ones (over 3 years old), depends on which one. Some couldn't care about the weather while others don't like getting their feet wet. My ducks usually are outside regardless of weather unless it's a heavily downpouring. My guineas normally stay inside during inclement weather including snow. One male does venture out in light snow and rain.

Oh, I never have had to shovel a path for them either, they trample it down for me instead.

Because of a covered run, my girls only go in the henhouse at roost time. Although, my friends crazy dog came over yesterday and 1 chicken went into henhouse and was on roost shouting at the dog from the safety of her henhouse. I realized later she wanted to lay an egg and was not pleased with the dog and was not scared to shout about it! She laid the egg shortly after the dog left, lol 🐓❤️

If they wake up to snow cover they stay in. If outside and it starts to snow, business as usual. Hit the coop a little earlier in the evening.
Mine woke up to snow, so won't go out until we shovel a path. They have fully enclosed 5x20' sunroom attached they'll stay out in though. Silkies are wussies sometimes. ☺️
