lol! This is the best problem to have, am I right? Well, first off, your eggs need to be washed, especially if they have any dirt or poo on them, before sale. No soap, just water. Your egg cartons must say “wash before consuming” and “refrigerate”. They must also have something on them where your clients can contact you on the egg carton.Hey yall, trying to get a grip on potentially selling eggs here in TN. I've read different things on various threads but I'm thinking I'm seeing contradictions because the info is old...
What are the rules currently on prepping eggs for sale? Do I have to sanitize and buy brand new cartons? Just trying to get my ducks in a row so to speak. Appreciate any links or advice!
Edit: chicken photo tax

She's one of my best layers and I'm running out of fridge space!! Please help lol
Anything else is up to you! I like to have free ranged, and handpicked on there as well. IF you can get the cartons back from the people you sold to you can use them again. We do a “one dollar off if you give back the carton”.
Those are the minimums, but here’s a few tips from a fellow egg seller-
Sell your eggs in more city areas! You can sell over state lines as well, as long as you are only selling them for eating, and have a point of contact with the buyer. But a lot of people in rural TN have chickens, so there will be more buyers in the city, as well as they will pay more for fresh eggs, normally.
I live in southern Tennessee, and around here, we can just barely sell a few dozen for 2 dollars each. We go to Nashville and Huntsville (Alabama) and sell about ten dozen each time for 4 dollars!
Best of selling!
