Twin ducklings in 1 Egg - What should I expect?

I have read many threads on this forum where people ask it they should assist in a troubled hatch. Sometimes they assist in time and everything is fine. Sometimes they decide to wait and the duckling dies. Those are the only two ways that I ever see the scenario play out. My conclusion: assist sooner than later, because there probably won't be a later.
