Can I ask what cup waterers you are referring to??? I am thinking I need something better.
As far as calls, I never heard the "darth vader" call until the males were 8 weeks. The males started crowing at 7 weeks, and the males and females all were making a curious cry, kind of undulating. I think it may have been their juvenile cry, as the females are the only ones who do it now.
I sexed my buttons by the bib, which showed up by three weeks or so. I did wonder how right I was until I saw them actually mating ( video posted on youtube- sideways as I am a terrible photographer).
