Hi Peeps. My chicks are 6 days old and have gotten very active. I have paper towel on the floor of their brooder. I'm planning on putting sand down when I change them to the bigger brooder in a couple of days.
I'm wondering if it's ok for them to eat the paper towel. They have already eaten quite a bit of it as they grab it and chase the one with PT in it's beak around.
If not then I'll put sand in the one they're in now and then still change them to the bigger one in a few days with sand.

Allow them to have a little chick grit, free choice, to help them digest it. Paper towels aren't great for them, but it's really just fiber.

Thank you so much for responding. I bought some grit but I'm not sure it's the right size. It says the average size of the grit is 1/16". It's called poultry grit (chicks & poultry).

This is the label.
