chicks not eating enough?

I have 14 chicks of differing varieties, but all are larger breeds.

I fill up a 25 slot trough feeder with medicated crumbles and those 14 chicks could eat on that for 3 days. My question is, how much should I expect 14 chicks to eat daily? I am letting them freely eat from the trough anytime they wish as well.

It has been hot here, and I am sure that will contribute to them eating less. But I am not sure how much they should eat anyway, so no way to judge if they are getting enough, other than obviously seeing that they are growing at a good clip.

Any advice on this would be welcome.

First you didn't say say how old they were? I had the same thing as long as they are growing, they should be fine.

The chicks are 12 days old today.

If they're growing, they are fine.
