They Are Virtually Impossible To Find. They Do Not Do Well In Captivity. The Listing On Eggbid Is The 1st I Have Found In Over A Year. Good Luck With This! I'd Say Try Rany At Spectrum Ranch... If Anybody Has Them He Would.

It isn't soo much they are hard to raise. But that breeding requires more than other birds. You put the male and female together..let them mate...then remove male. They also require a lot of space. But I use to know a breeder and he always said his birds tamed down like chickens after awhile. Ruffed grouse are something on my list of things to add in the future.

For something exotic or unusual like grouse I know you can find adds for them in the Gamebird Gazzette. I used to subscribe and it has a lot of adds in it with birds for sale. Everything from silkies to cranes, including waterfowl. It's not much of a magazine but it is a great resource to find things.
