I noticed last week that her middle toe was curved. I also noticed in the past few days that it seems to have gotten worse, but today it is at a 90 degree angle! (She's about 1.5 weeks old) It is not bleeding and she doesn't pick at it - and neither do the others. She is favoring it, however, tucking it uner her body and that toe looks a little swollen. She is getting around OK and eating and drinking. Her size looks good compared to the others.

Is it common for chickens to lose toes? Any advice on how to handle it?

Thanks again. This forum has really been a wealth of information!

You might try to make a "tape boot" for it...straighten out the toe, and slip the tape over and around it. Just make sure it is in a natural position. Might want to keep an eye on it as well...for infection. Good luck with your little one! Im sure she will be just fine...crooked toe or not.
