Guessing game. Silkie, polish or silkie/polish chicks

Just for fun I'm trying to guess what our new babies for the pet flock are
This is a list of all possible parents.


Chick #1. I'm thinking Silkie with incorrect toes. Mother would be white or paint, dad the buff Silkie.

Chick #2. Silkie with lack of some pigment? The photo of the white silkie hen they supplied also has light skin.


Chick #3. Polish x Silkie? Mother would be buff laced frizzle polish since it looks to be frizzle, slight feathered and greenish legs so possibly Silkie dad?

It's early days but if I had to guess now I'd say all three are Silkie/Polish crosses.

1st and 3rd are “Polkies”. They both have smooth wing feathers coming in. Second is a Silkie (wing feathers are silkied). Lack of pigment is coming from the paint (dominant white). Should darken a bit as the chick ages.

I would say all are crosses. Though the second has more silky-like feathering, it's legs aren't solid black like a purebred silky would be. They are all adorable. The first, I think, resembles a silky the most(as of now) but feathering looks harder in the wing department.

Paint Silkies are purebred. The bearded variety is an accepted color in the breed standard. Dominant white is used to create the color. Dominant white chicks are hatched with pink skin. The skin usually (not always) darkens as the chick ages. Paint Silkies have spotted skin and this can also be seen in the feet. This usually darkens as the chick ages as well.
This is a dominant white chick I hatched (from crossing two paint Silkies). She had completely pink skin at hatch, 3 weeks later her skin color changed
