My Chicken Coop - Feedback Appreciated

If you're in Yuma, AZ you MIGHT be okay with the pallets directly on the ground like that, but they'll probably last longer if you have them sitting on pavers or the 4x8x16 cinder blocks- even in the desert. If you choose only to coat/paint them, be sure to lift them up and coat the underside that is in direct contact with the ground.
 
Okay, got it. We've got a trip to Home Depot planned for tomorrow morning. Will get hardware cloth to attach to the outside of the coop at the top. And yes, good idea to spray the pallet wood with something that preserves it. I guess I will only apply a preservative to the outside.
I agree with everyone here! Hardware cloth is a must also make sure you put the hardware cloth on the ground at the base to prevent anything from digging to get in, a predator will work to get at a good meal!
