    Buff silkies gender question

Butter and Scotch are approximately six weeks old. I know it's probably too soon to tell but just curious your thoughts on pullet or roo for the heck of it. I did go ahead and order gender testing for them. The one that has me thrown off is the single comb. Pretty sure the other is a boy. I also...

    Wry neck S.O.S.

Hello all, So I am fairly certain I am dealing with wry neck. Symptoms began Oct. 10 very subtly, but we pulled her into the house because she was walking in circles. It escalated fast and the following day she was contorted and walking backwards. We began the pea-sized amount of Vitamin...

    Neverending tapework saga

Hello flock friends, So I feel I am losing an uphill battle currently. Recently tackled mites with Elector PSP and successfully looks to have worked. Hoooowever, tapeworms seem to be an ongoing theme. I treated with Zimectrin Gold in August, and seemed to have done the trick, but fast forward...

Is this a boy Mille fleur d’uccle

Hello! I was told these were both pullets. But I’m starting to worry the lighter one (on left) is a roo. I don’t have experience with this breed though, so wondering if someone can weigh in. Thanks as always.

    Slightly odd poop

Hi there picked up this honey Friday. She is super sweet but has loose stool. I can add probiotic into her water. Just curious if this is super concerning or just regular weird chicken poop and settling in?

    Satin showgirl gender

Helloooo. This is Lucille. She (I hope) is about six months old. No crows but also no eggs. Just curious any potential rooster possibility here 😳 Don’t want to go through that. Again. Lol.

    Silkie littles

Hi everyone. I am just curious some thoughts on gender of these new littles. Was told females and so far zero signs of crowing. Just figured I’d throw it out there. 1. Honey pie 2. Coalie

    Rehoming rooster, hen left

Hello, I have a silky Roo that unfortunately has become rather loud and I am going to have to rehome. He lives with the little hen pictured and they are close. They’re both 7 months. I love her so much and still would like to keep her. Will she be ok if he is gone? I will try to find a girl pal...

    Coop upgrade | question

So we’re going to be converting the shed in bottom Two photos into a coop for our four gals. Nest boxes on bottom, little door to get in and out and roosting poles. Going to add ventilation with hardware cloth up top. How many chickens could roost and nest in this if we ever wanted to add to...

My flock doesn’t like kids LOL.

Soooo my husband and I don’t have children so I never realized this until my neighbor came by with her daughter who ran up to greet my duck I was holding ... who wanted none of it. And then one of my chickens ran at her 😳. I feel so bad. I guess they’re not really around children they are...

    First Cayuga duck egg

Soooo I knew our first egg was coming due to the girls’ age and flirtation station lately. Low and behold I found an egg just sitting in their run. However it wasn’t a black egg like I anticipated for their first egg. im still excited since it’s our first. But is it weird that it’s this color...

    Pecked hiney

My poor girl has been enduring some hiney pecking last couple weeks. I bring in. Clean. Blukote, hen healer, no peck lotion. I have a flock of four girls and they’re all the same age. Everyone is laying now healthy eggs. I feel so bad for this girl. Will she ever have her fluff butt back. This...

    Matte egg versus shiny

All four of my 7 month old pullets are now laying beautiful eggs. I just had a curious question. This is the same breed of chicken (white maran) yet one girls egg is shiny and one is matte. Both hard and healthy looking. Does this happen time to time?

    Reintroducing a hen

Hi all Our pullet who is the only layer right now has become extremely feisty. One hen in particular has become the target of her aggression. I often try to let them work it out - but once I see blood it’s game over. Lulu (the layer) pecked out snowballs comb so much it was bleeding several days...

    Tips for run

Hi 😌 I have three cayugas who shockingly (jk) make a mess of their run. This is my first go with ducks. I love them! What fun animals they are. My tactic to try and combat the mess is to deep litter the run with straw and hay and do a deep clean to compost seasonally. Is this a good route to go...

    Foot feather issue

Hi all. My girl has something going on with her foot feathers. It happened a few weeks ago as well. I cleaned it, treated it avian wound spray (she’s such a good patient thank god) but now it happened again. Showing no signs of pain and walks on it fine. i did some googling and is it pulled pin...

    He or she 😳

Hi there Lulu is our partridge olive egger and she is 6 months old. I’m starting to wonder if Lulu is a Louis tho 😳. She’s been jumping on the backs of one of my other hens. And acting a bit aggressive. No crowing though.

    Cute Cayuga trio

These are my three beauty gals Basil, Sage and Ginger. They moved outside two weeks ago which was hardest for mom lol I miss my besties in the house ... but not the mess lol. What are your favorite treats and/or duck tips. I’d love to see pics of your quackery too. Ducks are sooo fun.

    Duck bottom is white

Hi all I have three female Cayugas. They are 10 weeks old and just moved outside. They’re acting super happy and healthy but I noticed some feathers coming out (is this normal) and also white residue on my other girls bottom. Cause for concern? Both pictures attached.
