Hi all..

Here is my 20 week old pullett.. the lady I got her from said she was an araucana based hybrid.. but I was wondering if you could all tell what other breed she is?.. she’s got grey spots/grey feathers on her (if it helps, when I chose her some of the other hens in her batch had a lot more deep black spots/feathers than her) hope ya’ll can help me.. :)

Also because she is a smaller breed will she start to lay later?

Thanks everyone

I would guess that she's true Rumpless Araucana mixed with White Leghorn. I say this because she seems to have a single copy of Dominant White, which is why you're seeing those black spots on her and her sisters. Her comb is rather large for a pea-comb and she seems to have genes for yellow legs hiding underneath the slate/willow colour of the Araucana, which also fits with Leghorn influence. An unusual cross considering the rarity of Rumpless Araucana, but a very pretty bird, and hopefully you'll see plenty of blue eggs from her.

ETA: I find that my smaller birds tend to mature and lay earlier than the bigs, and the redness of her comb and face suggest that she'll be laying within a few weeks.
