Can chickens eat oranges

Have a wild orange trees a couple hundred feet away from the chicken coop and run. I will wash off all the oranges just want to make sure it is fine before I do it. I have silkies, just silkies
 
They *can* eat a limited amount of citrus but aren't likely to eat it unless short on other options.

When I throw tired oranges into the run my chickens mostly ignore them until they have gotten squishy and infested with fruit fly larva. Then they eat the bugs rather than the oranges. :D

Now my sister's dubia roach colony -- they LOVE oranges.
 
Agreed that they’re usually not a favorite, and that in large quantities can be less than ideal health wise...but worth a try.

I’d start small and cut the oranges open for easy access to the flesh (a knife or a sharp shovel will do the trick).
