Confirming it’s a pullet

These two are about 6 weeks old. I am 95% sure I know but wanted to have some help. One is Silver Deathlayer and the other Black Copper Marans. The SDL has just a hint of pink on the comb and the BCM only had the copper coloring on the neck. Let me know your opinions. Please. They are very flighty so getting better pics proved difficult.

I am pretty sure both are cockerels. I am not 100% on the deathlayer as I am unfamiliar with the breed.

Interesting. I had read that with BCM, that they get coppering on the wings and not the neck...but I am new to the breeds. My other chicks that where cockerels had very red combs even at 3 weeks.

BCM is a cockerel, pullets dont start getting their combs and wattles in or red until they are close to laying. BCM are a bit slower of a maturing breed.

I think your BCM is a cockerel at least. Here’s a pic of my BCM around 8 weeks old to compare the combs. Hers is almost non-existent.

Thank you. I also reached out to the breeder who raises them and they said pullet. lol. Will see in a few more weeks. Such a guessing game! Here is a pic I found too for 6 weeks.
