Feeding Spaghetti Squash?

Give it to them! They'll love it and make their eggs taste super good.

Mine love it. Cut it in half lengthwise. No need to cook it or chop it up. I grew extra this last season to make sure I had plenty yo feed to the chickens.

Great, thank you. The only reason I wondered about it was because of it's stringy consistency. Wondered if they would have trouble getting it down.

We had some spagetti squash last night. I had trouble cutting through it with a knife. I can't believe chickens can peck into it raw.

But I have some leftover on the peel, that I'm planning on giving them later. It is really cold today, so they are already snacking on warm oatmeal.

Hint - If you are cutting open a spaghetti squash just to give to your chickens, tray an ax. It makes them open very easy. This is how I do it. Try to cut it in half lengthwise. Then set it their run with the skin towards the ground, sort of like a bowl. I suppose this won't work well if the squash is exposed to rain. My run has a roof.

An ax also works great for pumpkins.
