The light sprinkling of rain we've been getting has been keeping the underbrush damp and very likely full of hidden treats.

7 today, the ladies all survived their dip for mites and after a short “stun” period, they were back to their usual form. They didn’t like not being able to go into their coop or run while it dried.

All 3 today! Juin’s 38th consecutive egg was quite a bit bigger than her normal little egg. Such an over-achiever!

Six eggs yesterday morning...

and 5 eggs today, so far.

My chickens have laid roughly 115 pounds of eggs so far this year...
800 eggs X 2.3 oz. each = 1840 oz. / 16 = 115 pounds
And I think that number is low because a lot more eggs were heavier than 2.3 oz than lighter.

The girls have eaten 250 pounds of layer pellets, and maybe a bit more, in that time. Averaging 4.25 ounces of food per day each...
4.25 oz X 7 hens X 140 days = 4165 oz / 16 oz = 260.3 pounds of feed consumed.

44% of the feed was transformed into eggs (by weight).
260.3 pounds feed X 44% = 114.5 pounds eggs


ETA: I just learned that my chickens' feed conversion ratio is 2.26.
