Lady's Thumb: toxic to chickens?

The article says that songbirds eat the seeds, but that the leaves have a strong flavor that deters mammals from eating it.

I doubt that it would hurt the chickens, it they have plenty of choices of what to eat. I have rosemary and sage growing in my yard where the chickens forage daily. They don't eat either plant. Both have quite strong odors to them.

This is an old thread but I decided to comment. My chickens love Lady's Thumb. It's everywhere around their coop and I finally was able to identify it. If it were toxic they would have been sick or dead by now!
