Good morning,
We got baby chicks from TSC on April 3rd, and then a week or so later got more. They’ve all been doing well and we didn’t lose any until this morning when I found our runt dead. She was still warm, and other than having a smaller bottom beak, was eating and drinking just fine. Now, I accidentally gave a small amount (handful) of layer feed to them all yesterday morning as I grabbed the feed from the wrong bin. Could this have killed her? All other chicks seem to be fine. Also, I did spread a small amount of First Saturday Lime in their coop but the company states it is safe and non toxic for all animals even if ingested. Could the layer feed have killed her??
