So we got 10 chicks from the feed store. All were supposed to be pullets. They were supposed to be:
3 easter Eggers
1 Barred rock
1 speckled sussex
1 midnight majesty marans
1 lavender orpington
1 assorted wyandotte
2 starlight green Eggers

Fairly certain we got a sapphire gem, no wyandotte, and a lavender orpington cockerel 🙄

Opinions?

(Barred rock and at least 1 easter egger not pictured)

The lavender Orpington is the only one looking like a potential cockerel to me at this stage.

The blue one has an odd comb. I can't tell if it has a pea comb or a rose comb, but if it is the latter then it could be your Wyandotte. Sapphire Gems have single combs, so they may have substituted something else for that.

You know, I didn't even pay attention to her comb! Maybe I got my wyandotte after all, albeit the wrong one but oh well!

And for the lavender orp, it's small compared to the others, and although it has a bigger, pinker comb, it doesn't have big waddles showing so it's a mystery

5 is a cockerel and I'd watch 1 very closely
Not all roosters have big wattles and size isn't always the best indicator of gender. Sometimes you have big girls and small boys. Last year I had a easter egger chick that was bigger than the other 3 I had and had red leakage on her chest. Parsley now lays a green egg almost every day and is simply a large reddish brown hen. I had figured out before then that she was definitely a she 'cause at a certain point even though she's big and reddish, her overall appearance just screamed hen. This year I have another big easter egger who's definitely one of my largest if not my largest. Despite her size, she has no other roo traits in appearance or temperment. She's almost 8 weeks old so while that *could* change, I don't expect it to, Ginkgo is just a big girl lol
