Pop door for Jersey Giants - what size?

Our coop is in the final stages of completion, and DH is ready to create a pop door. Our pullets are 3 weeks old, and two of them are Jersey Giants. We know how large they will be, and we figure to build our door to accomodate them.

So... what size door for our big ladies?

I'm not familiar with Jersey Giants, but its pretty common to make a pop hole about 12x14". You could make it just a tad larger than that, but I have buff orps and they do fine with my door.

12" wide by 18" tall should be fine for these big birds.

Did you get any other answers? What size did you have in the end? Do you think 18" x 12 " is big smooth or does it need to be larger?
